I wouldn’t claim any effectiveness rating for these, but they are soft, durable, and washable. I think they could be useful, how about to wear as a reminder to keep your hands away from your mouth and nose?
However you decide to use them, they’re very easy to make.
Yarn- I used Lion Brand 24/7 cotton in Sky for the blue one, and Premier Cotton Fair in White for the other.

At the end of the last row turn the corner and sc up the side of the mask. At about halfway finger pinch a pleat in the mask, push the hook through all layers, and secure the pleat with the next couple stitches. At the top corner ch 28 and slst to the nearest other corner. Fasten off.
To make the same ear hanger on the other side make a slip knot on the hook with more yarn and join to the corner stitch. Sc up the side, pleating again in the middle and securing with the next couple stitches. At the top corner ch 28 and slst to the remaining corner. Fasten off.
Wear in good health!
